When in Rome...or Baden Baden

I did it. I survived the Friedrichsbad Mineral Bath today. I spent all morning on the train and finally got to the Spa at 3pm. The closer I got, the more my heart pumped. Was I excited or nervous or thinking why the heck did I watch that Rick Steve's section on Germany?

Here is something I read online about the spa...

FAQ What do I have to bring along?
You don’t need a big bag for a visit in the Friedrichsbad. It’s a nudist bath. Therefore you don’t need to bring any bathing clothes. We provide you with towels and bathing shoes. Furthermore our showers are equipped with soap dispensers and at stage 15 you can chose between different moisturising creams. Hairdryers are also there for you to use.

So, if I would have gone on Saturday, it was co-ed from stages 7-11, if I would have gone on Sunday, it was co-ed for stages 1-17. I went on Monday, not co-ed, but still a little wierd. It was amazing though---no wonder why the Romans loved it so much. I figured I did not know a single person there, would never see anyone from there, did not make small talk like I have been doing so much these last few months.

No pictures of the inside of the spa, but it was such a beautiful place. At the end, they wrapped me in a warm towel and blanket and let me sleep for a while. So relaxing...and then I had to load up my bags and get on the train for a quick overnight in Frankfurt. Berlin tomorrow!

Good night!
