There were parts blocked off so I had to look from afar. I also got to see where the previous Popes have been put to rest including the last one--his section is very simple and still guarded by two men (no Pictures allowed). I saw the Trevi Fountain and a few more churches, did some shopping and more eating. I got to know the public transportation in Rome pretty well. There are a few places I have not been that I want to see--I am coming back in June and September so I think I can see them then. I finally made it to the Vatican...waited two and a half hours in line to get in, but I can actually say it was worth it. The art inside was amazing even before we got to the Sistine Chapel. I met McKenizie and Tabatha who are studying in France and we had a fun afternoon and evening getting lost and finding ourselves in Vatican City and around Rome. Maps have never been my specialty! We ended my last evening in Rome at the Colosseum at sunest as the lights were coming on...really cool! I had a train for 10:30 to go to Naples the next morning and headed back to the house.

More of Rome
I spent another two days walking around Rome. I am ready for Portland to coast--having walked at least 6 miles each day in Rome. My feet are sore and I have gotten some sun on my arms. I have enjoyed some great Italian ristorantes and cafes...liking capuccino and gelato more each day. St. Peter's Church was absolutely amazing inside. .
