Bloomsday

Karlene and I traveled to Spokane for Bloomsday 2007. 12K, 7.46 miles from downtown Spokane down a big hill, up a few hills, and then Doomsday Hill. I beat last year's time by about 15 minutes.

It felt so good to turn that last corner and see the finish line. We both sprinted to the finish line and smiled with a sense of accomplishment. We got our finisher t-shirts and left the crowded Spokane downtown.

My legs were already getting sore and driving home and then trying to get out of the car was a challenge...we rushed home to go to a softball game. I tried out my new bat for the first time--running for a double stretched to a triple was not what my legs wanted to do!! I took a hard hit ball to the left shin. It immediately welted up and hurt a lot. Over the past few days, it has turned all different colors and is still swollen.
